Based in Escondido, California, Stuart believes in the connection of all things. He teaches band at Bernardo Heights Middle School, photography through the Poway Adult School, and — in the winter — skiing at Snow Valley. Music's focus on harmony and rhythm informs everything he does, from framing a photograph to reading a mountain. Both music and photography, at their best, offer something rare: a direct channel into the deeper connections that live within us and between us. Teaching is the thread that ties it all together. Whether it's a middle school trumpet section, an adult photography student chasing golden hour for the first time, or a kid finally linking their turns on a blue run — the joy is the same. Helping someone find the connection they didn't know was there.
